Mobile verification corridor

WhatsApp should be a verification channel, not just a share button.

For many small institutions, WhatsApp is the daily operating system. PLENA lets an issuer, reviewer, or verifier handle simple receipt checks through WhatsApp Business while the canonical proof stays in the PLENA registry or wallet.

Core workflows

Issue

Small issuer uses WhatsApp Business

A parish office, school registrar, clinic, NGO field desk, or local service provider sends a receipt link and QR from an approved business number.

Verify

Recipient checks by message

A verifier sends a receipt ID or scans a QR and receives public-safe status: valid, expired, revoked, refused, pending, or private.

Escalate

Human reviewer loop

If the request needs judgment, the chat routes to a human reviewer or issuer administrator.

WhatsApp-native design limits

What WhatsApp can do

  • Send receipt links.
  • Confirm public-safe status.
  • Route simple issuer actions.
  • Capture service occurrence confirmations.
  • Notify a user of revocation or refusal.

What stays outside WhatsApp

  • Private archive storage.
  • Full identity records.
  • Admin audit logs.
  • Legal review files.
  • Registry authority and key management.
Implementation note: Begin with WhatsApp share and manual verification scripts, then move toward WhatsApp Business API only after privacy, abuse, and account-recovery safeguards are defined.
