This is not a limitation — it is a deliberate design decision. VERITA is built for the professionals who cannot afford to have their data held by anyone: refugees reconstructing their identity, diaspora professionals with sensitive immigration status, doctors and lawyers bound by confidentiality rules, government workers in regulated environments, and professionals in countries where data held by a foreign platform creates legal or personal risk.
What this means in practice: VERITA has no GDPR data obligations for stored records because it stores none. It has no data breach liability because it holds nothing to breach. It can be used in every country without data localisation compliance because nothing crosses a border. It can be used inside hospitals, law firms, and government agencies without triggering IT procurement reviews.

The professional credentialing system that exists today was built for institutions, not individuals. It assumes that if you are credentialed, an institution will vouch for you. It assumes that the institution issuing your degree is in a database that another institution can query. It assumes that your professional history is somewhere on record.
None of those assumptions hold for the majority of credentialed professionals on earth. A bishop in the Democratic Republic of Congo. A public health specialist in Rwanda. An engineer in Indonesia. A lawyer in Nigeria. A theologian in Burundi. Their credentials are real. Their experience is genuine. Their expertise is often exceptional. But none of the standard verification systems can reach them — and so institutions simply do not trust what they cannot verify.
VERITA changes this. Not by replacing institutional verification — but by giving professionals a way to document, score, and share their credential evidence in a format institutions can review quickly, in a structured, portable format, while official verification remains with accredited bodies.
The model is the Visa card. A Visa card does not tell you the cardholder is trustworthy. It shows that a recognised payment network can route and present account information in a trusted format. VERITA uses that portability idea for professional credentials. The VERITA Credibility Assessment Seal means: these documents were submitted, these claims were assessed, and this score was produced on this date by this system. That record is durable, publicly reviewable, and blockchain-oriented.

What VERITA does — and does not — claim
VERITA assesses the consistency, completeness, and plausibility of submitted documentation.
VERITA does not verify document authenticity. No AI system reading text can confirm that a passport, diploma, or certificate is genuine. VERITA cannot access government databases, university registries, or any official verification system. What VERITA does is assess whether the claims a person or organisation makes are internally consistent, plausible, and supported by the documents submitted. Fraud often fails not because a fake document is detected, but because a fake story contains contradictions. VERITA identifies contradictions.
Every VERITA report, seal, and certificate should be understood in this context. VERITA provides a structured credibility assessment — not a legal determination, not a forensic audit, not a government-grade identity verification. Institutions using VERITA reports as part of their own verification processes must conduct independent due diligence in accordance with applicable law and professional standards.
Privacy: VERITA never stores your documents. Analysis is performed during the session. This static page is designed not to retain document content on PLENA servers; users should still avoid uploading sensitive records unless a production privacy workflow is in place. API keys entered by users are used only within their browser session and are never transmitted to or stored by VERITA.
